JDRF – Our Favorite Charity

Type 1 diabetes is a devastating, often deadly disease that affects millions of people. People with Type 1 (Juvenile) Diabetes cannot live without regular insulin doses, either through several injections a day or by way of an insulin pump.  But insulin is not a cure. Aside from the daily challenges of living with type 1 diabetes, there are many severe, often fatal, complications caused by the disease.

JDRF funds a major portion of all type 1 diabetes research worldwide, more than any other charity. In fact, JDRF funding and leadership is associated with most major scientific breakthroughs in type 1 diabetes research to date.

The Vermont JDRF Walk To Cure Diabetes is coming up this Sunday, May 17th at CVU and I encourage you to join me in getting involved! Walk, volunteer or support a team with a donation, it all helps!
